Carol Barton – Jones

Carol Barton-Jones is experimenting with style, themes and colours, just as she has been doing all of her life. She started at the age of three when she turned a fresh eye and an unsteady hand on the walls of her aunt’s bedroom, using a combination of various shades of lipsticks and face creams to create her first mural. The response was less than appreciative but it began her long journey in the pursuit of artistic identity.

This exploration of artistic possibilities has, in recent years, become more urgent as she has become a gallery owner; she is now also committed to developing a fuller appreciation of the challenges faced by exhibiting artists. This combines with her current preoccupation which is op(tical) art -but the constant in her search for creative expression is her love of colour, a love which began with a small fistful of lipsticks.
