September Roundup
September has been a lively and inspiring month at Leabrooks Arts Complex, with exhibitions, community connections and plenty of creative energy filling the gallery in Somercotes.
At the start of the month, visitors were welcomed to ‘Our World’, a mixed exhibition by Brian Steele, Kay Stanton and Lauren Lawson. Bringing three artists together in one show gave visitors the chance to enjoy a variety of styles, subjects and creative approaches, all under one roof.
A month of art and conversation
The Leabrooks Artists Forum also took place in September, creating another opportunity for local artists and art lovers to meet, share ideas and enjoy conversation. These gatherings are an important part of what makes Leabrooks such a welcoming creative space — somewhere people can connect, feel encouraged and be part of a supportive arts community.
Arwyn Quick: Small Works
From 12th September, the gallery has also been pleased to show Arwyn Quick’s exhibition, ‘Small Works’, which continues through to 27th October. Arwyn’s Derbyshire landscapes capture a strong sense of place, drawing inspiration from wide skies, open fields, farms, barns and the surrounding countryside.
It has been lovely to see visitors spending time with the work, discovering details and enjoying the atmosphere of the exhibition. As always, the gallery continues to offer a relaxed and friendly environment for anyone who wants to enjoy original art in person.
Thank you for visiting
A big thank you goes to everyone who has visited, supported the artists, attended events or helped keep the complex active throughout September. Your encouragement means a great deal and helps Leabrooks Arts Complex continue as a welcoming centre for creativity, wellbeing and community.
Looking ahead, there is more to enjoy in October, including Sue Mutch and Friends, opening on 3rd October and running until 6th November. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
